What’s that noise?

noisy-miner

Noisy Miners are common in the suburbs of Sydney. They are a type of honeyeater that noisily defend the area around their home from other birds, especially other species of honeyeaters which may be seen as competitors for food resources. Many other small birds are also driven from the area. Sometimes miners will even chase after much larger birds like cormorants or herons or harass them mercilessly if they perch somewhere in the miners’ territory.
