Blue tongue

blue-tongue1Blue tongues are also known as blue-tongued lizards or blue-tongued skinks and are some of the largest members of the skink family. Adult blue-tongues adapt well to suburbs where there are large backyards with plenty of shelter. Rockeries, horizontal pipes and the cavities under houses are favourite hiding places and sunny paths and lawns provide basking sites. A blue-tongue in the garden will help to keep down the number of snails and plant-eating insects.
