Lioness

Taking photos of animals can be tricky. They move when you want them to stay still, they stop right behind that one branch, rock or blade of grass, they look the wrong way, but every once in a while you can catch them looking in just the right direction.

Lions are native to the grasslands, scrub, and open woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. Unlike other big cats, lions are very social animals, living in groups of around 30 lions. The size of the pride is determined by the availability of food and water.
