Generally speaking, I’m not a huge fan of taking photos of animals through glass enclosures. The glass is often smudged with kid’s fingerprints on the outside and dirt and water on the inside. Looking at the display on the camera, you think you’ve got a great shot but when you see it full size you find that the camera picked up the smear on the glass. Sometimes, however, it is comforting to have the glass between you and the creature in the enclosure. I don’t think I would be too happy to be this close to the pointy end of a coastal taipan without the glass between us.
